HRDC Somalia

Environmental Protection and Climate Change

HRDC works to build community resilience against climate shocks and environmental degradation:

  • Promoting disaster risk reduction (DRR) and climate-smart agriculture.
  • Conducting tree planting and reforestation campaigns.
  • Training communities in sustainable land and water management practices.
  • Raising awareness on climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies.

Example: HRDC organized climate resilience workshops in Mudug, training 150 farmers on soil conservation and water management techniques to adapt to drought conditions.

Integration Approach

HRDC integrates its social development programs with gender equality and women’s empowerment initiatives, ensuring that vulnerable women, children, and marginalized groups benefit from all aspects of humanitarian assistance, development, and protection. This holistic and community-driven approach ensures sustainable impact, resilience, and improved quality of life for the populations we serve.
